Just before half term, the city of Manchester badminton doubles championships took place at Whalley Range. Our 4 teams performed admirably but sadly 3 were knocked out in the group stages. Our sole qualifiers to the knock out phase was our key stage 3 boys team of Ben Bentley and Ruben Baker.
In the semi finals they were drawn against Parrswood and successfully qualified for the Finals winning 15-11. This guaranteed the boys a medal but which colour? Their opponents were Manchester Grammar school. The boys were victorious winning 15-12 and are now City of Manchester Champions - a fantastic achievement for all their hard work at badminton club.
