Outstanding Teacher Training

Today King David High School was awarded 'Advanced Partnership School' teacher training status from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU)for their PGCE training provision. This follows a quality assurance visit by the university, where the school impressed MMU across all areas of the inspection.
This achievement is in no small part due to the hard work and professionalism of our subject mentors who are a credit to our school and who give large amounts of their time to provide outstanding training and support.

Year 9 Israel at the Kotel

As part of the Y9 Israel Tour, students have been visiting the Old City of Jerusalem and the holiest site in Jweish life, the Kotel. They are having an amazing week together bonding, volunteering and learning about the State of Israel. Many thanks to Rabbi C.Cohen and Mr.Cheetham for leading this experience.

KD Campus Allotment Launched

We are proud to announce the introduction of the KD Campus Allotment which will stimulate  and engage student discussion and concern for the living planet, ethical resourcing, climate change and wellbeing.

Students across the campus - from Nursery to High School - will be responsible for the maintenance, development, planning and care of the allotment, and are encouraged to volunteer time and support. They will growing herbs, flowers, planting fruit trees and vegetable beds.

We are looking for parent sponsorship, experience and resourcing to enhance development of this campus-wide project. Many thanks to Mrs.Selby, Miss.Longley and Mr.Cheetham for spearheading this initiative with the KD pupil team.

Spanish Exchange Success for KDHS Y9

This term our Year 9 students studying Spanish have been exchanging emails with students from the IES Salvador de Madariaga school in La Coruña, Galicia.They have also recorded and uploaded videos onto a blog to introduce themselves to their penpals. 
On Wednesday 15th May, the group had their first live video conference with the students in Spain.
The session enabled the students from both schools to converse in Spanish and English. It was a great opportunity for  students to develop their Spanish language skills, to learn about the culture of Spain, to form friendships abroad and improve their confidence in spoken Spanish.
Many thanks to all students involved. It was a great success. ​

UJIA Magic Moments Assembly

Magic Moments delivered an emotional and thought provoking assembly for Yom Hazikaron. The talented Israeli group shared memories of individual soldiers and the impact their untimely deaths had on their families and wider society. Students lit candles in their memories.
