SMSC
At King David High School, we recognise that the personal development of pupils, spiritually, religiously, morally, socially, and culturally plays a significant part in their ability to learn and achieve. We therefore aim to provide an education that provides students with opportunities to explore and develop their own spiritual and religious awareness, high standards of personal behaviour, a positive caring attitude towards other people, an understanding of their religious social and cultural traditions and an appreciation of the diversity and richness of other cultures. This is embedded throughout all aspects of school life and is mapped across the school and curriculum areas.

British Values
At King David High School, we are committed to the development of students who achieve academic excellence; who have a strong sense of identity with Judaism and Israel and who are thoughtful, tolerant, responsible, and caring citizens of Great Britain who will take on leadership roles in the Jewish and wider community.

Embracing British Values is achieved through both the formal curriculum, extra-curricular activities and the School’s ethos.

The government set out its definition of British Values as:
Democracy
The rule of law
Individual liberty & mutual respect
Tolerance of those with different faiths & beliefs

SMSC and British Values within the curriculum areas
Staff at King David High School recognise the importance of SMSC and have therefore mapped its manifestation within the curriculum areas.
