Music Dept 8hr Piano Playing Marathon

Play That Piano!

To help raise funds for the Music Tour to Rome this July, students took part in an eight hour sponsored piano playing event. Starting at 8.30am (in time to accompany those having their breakfast) and ending at 4.30pm, a string of students kept up a continuous stream of piano music throughout the school day. The piano was positioned in the hall allowing the students to perform to a wide audience; you could even hear it on the top floor of the school at times. The pupils going on tour have been collecting sponsorship in the run up to the event and we had a buskers bucket in place by the piano to catch passing trade. There was a fantastic response from both staff and students to the event and all those who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
