Yad Vashem Director Speaks to Students and the Community

Date: 7th and 8th Nov 2017
Dorit Novak, Director General of Yad Vashem, spoke to students in Y10 and Y11 about the need to stand up to hate, to maintain and preserve Jewish ideals, and to take advantage of Jewish education. She spoke about current understanding of the Holocaust and the need to use the tools of tolerance to achieve your goals.

Dorit Novak also spoke to a paced audience of nearly 500 from the wider community about the work of Yad Vashem and importance of the 'human spirit' to overcome hate. The community meeting was hosted in the KDHS main school hall with the North West Friends of Israel. Contributions to the evening came from Shuey Salomon (Y9 YB) who spoke of his friendship and closeness with the late survivor Chaim Ferster.
