Cisco Little-Big National Finals

Date: 9th Mar 2016
Noah Goodman, Louie Leventhall, Hannah Mehr and Sam Stonefield, 4 pupils from Year 8, took part in Cisco’s Little Big Awards National final, having won the Manchester regional heat a week earlier.
They competed against 10 other schools from around the UK in the final; shortlisted from 251 schools nationally.  The final took place at Cisco’s UK headquarters near Heathrow, London in a professional recording studio.
The theme of the competition was “The Internet of Things – Connecting the World” and our team advanced the concept of a spell pen, which could identify and suggest corrections for spelling mistakes written on normal paper.
The competition was tough and our team, although one of the youngest and smallest teams there, conducted themselves with great professionalism and impressed everyone attending.
Unfortunately, they were not the winners this year, but a team from our school will come back stronger and more experienced for next year’s competition.
