Royal Society of Chemistry - Young Analyst Competition - April 2013
|
On Thursday 25th April 3 Sixth Form students from King David High School took part in the RSC Young Analysts' Competition at Manchester Metropolitan University. The tasks were centred around finding out the purity of a sample of food product. The students used a range of analytical techniques and theory in their analysis, including a titration and flame photometry. These were undertaken in the university teaching laboratories, and after the practical work the students attended a couple of lectures on new research currently being undertaken at the university.
Competition was fierce, and the students performed brilliantly - coming 4th out of 24 schools, even beating independent schools such as Manchester Grammar School. |
