Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha'atzmaut
For Yom Hazikaron, we held an extended assembly led by Mr Sadeh in partnership with UJIA. This was a deeply moving opportunity to remember the tragic loss of those who gave their lives defending the State of Israel, as well as victims of terror. Our Sixth Form pupils contributed beautifully by reading poems of reflection and remembrance, while the school choir performed a poignant song that resonated throughout the hall.
Following this, we marked Yom Ha’atzmaut with a day of celebration to honour Israel’s independence. Pupils and staff proudly wore blue and white, creating a strong sense of unity across the school. We also raised funds for Hatzala UK, recognising their vital work and showing support following recent incidents of domestic terrorism affecting their community.
The day was filled with energy and joy, including a delicious BBQ lunch for all pupils. Key Stage 3 students enjoyed a range of activities such as bouncy castles, an Israeli-themed photo booth, and interactive experiences celebrating Israeli culture.
Together, these events reflected both remembrance and celebration, highlighting the resilience, unity, and spirit at the heart of our school community. #thekdway
