Yavneh is the Yeshiva
High School for boys.
Yavneh Yeshiva High
School adopts the
approach of Torah im
Derech Eretz as its
guiding principle. It
encourages a commitment
to and an appreciation
of Judaism and its
values. The teaching of
Torah, Talmud, Halacha,
Tefillah and Ivrit,
together with an
emphasis on outstanding
discipline, respect,
Midot, Chessed and
observance, is its
principle aim. This,
together with the
centrality of the State
of Israel and Zionism,
mark the uniqueness of
this unit.
"...The atmosphere in
Yavneh is one of
exceptional
co-operation, purpose
and joy..." (Ofsted)
The pursuit of
excellence is a primary
objective of this
prestigious unit. The
standards of the secular
curriculum and the
Jewish studies programme
are designed to enable
pupils, on graduation,
to enter the very best
Yeshivot and
universities.
A Yavneh graduate will
be 'at home' in the
world of Jewish learning
and observance, and
equally 'at home' in
Cambridge, Oxford or any
of the other centres of
academic excellence.
A Yavneh graduate is 'at
home' in two worlds.
Admission to Yavneh is
by an entrance
assessment examination
and by standards of
religious observance and
practice, as well as
high standards of
personal conduct. |
