Reaction and Release Art Exhibition 

Date: 9th November 2016
Six students from King David High School have taken part in a programme called ‘Future Creatives’ which celebrates Manchester’s emerging designers.  Working in partnership with Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester College, Xaverian College and Loreto College, 29 students presented 22 unique contemporary pieces at a Fashion Show (10/11/2016) at Manchester Art Gallery, Mosley Street, Manchester. The work created has been inspired by the 14-18 Now Exhibition Fashion and Freedom, which explores the extraordinary moment of change in women’s history during WW1 and how social and political challenges were reflected in fashion.
 
Debbie Harris, Ruth Sultman, Ella Shukhman, Tal Beer, Libby Cooper and Rivka Abenson displayed their work alongside students from 3 other colleges. The pieces were exhibited in the gallery, on live models down a catwalk and on films projected around the event space.
 
Tal Beer also worked with a professional film maker Antony Barkworth-Knight to capture the story behind her work.  The film which tells the stories behind 4 pieces of work from the exhibition was shown on the gallery website after the event. 

KEY 103 DJ Sophie Wright hosted the evening.
