William to Miss Kate Middleton with special
assemblies, in the Main school, Yavneh and 6th
Form. The Main schools assembly was led by Rabbi
Rickman, Mr Mintz and Mrs Basger. The Yavneh
assembly, by Rabbi Benson and Mrs Eden and the
6th Form assembly, by Rabbi Broder, Mr Pitt,
Miss McLaughlin and Mr Vincent. Apart from
speaking about the auspicious day and the school
joining the national celebrations, prayers were
recited for Her Majesty the Queen, the Royal
family, the Country and, of course, for the
Prince and Princess
The school hall, corridors and library were
decorated and decked out with Union-Jack
bunting, balloons, flags pictures and ‘Mazal Tov’
wishes which were set up by staff led by Mrs
Henshaw and Miss McLaughlin. This added to the
celebratory and festive mood of this very
special day.
Years 7, 8 and 9 watched the ceremony at 11.00,
in the library and 6th formers (who had no
lessons at that particular time) watched the
ceremony on a large screen in the main hall.
All pupils received special ‘treats’ at lunch
and were also able to watch the proceedings on
the large screen during lunch and the lunch
break.
