The Art Department consists of three main art teaching rooms, one kiln room, a research base, kiln room, darkroom and photographic area, and annual school galleries. The Art staff at KDHS encourage pupils to work to their full potential. Students study a variety of major artists and this is of great significance at GCSE, AS and A-Level. Lessons are conducted in a secure, supportive and disciplined manner where students interact in a way that demonstrates mutual respect. The main aim is that our pupils experience success and enjoyment and value Art as an important part of their education. The Art Department provides a wide range of comprehensive courses in Art and Design. Pupils throughout the Lower School are taught drawing, painting, printmaking, graphics, ceramics, photography and history of art. Art is part of the options scheme. Pupils selecting art for GCSE , AS and A2 follow the AQA specifications.
