Such permission will be granted by the Head of Year only if they have confidence that the student will spend their time appropriately in furtherance of their studies.

If students have a good attendance record and effort grades up until the Autumn half term they may be allowed to come in late on one morning a week if they do not have lessons in period 1 of that day.

The morning must be agreed and fixed with the Head of Year and is subject to their discretion, and will require confidence that the student will use the time appropriately, in furtherance of their studies. In such a case the student will have to sign in in
the sixth form signing in/out book at reception when they arrive.

If a student is repeatedly absent from registration without authorisation the school will contact their parents.

Students whose attendance is deficient, risk losing their place in the 6th form.

Attendance in lessons will be monitored via the IRIS system.

EMA payments, where applicable, are dependant on students’ attendance.

Students who need to miss school for any reason should apply in writing for permission from the headteacher.
